I went to Malacca on 14th March to 17th March. It was a fun experience but something unexpected happened. And it happened to me.
I went to Malacca with my boyfriend and his family. I was walking with him and his group of cousins along a road that had no street lamps after a really good dinner nearby our hotel when suddenly a motorist zoomed past me, grabbing my bag along. I tried pulling my bag back but because it was of lousy quality, it snapped and the motorist went off with my bag. I was shouting and hurling curses at the motorist until he was out of sight and that was then I suddenly realised that everything I had on me was in that bag - my passport, IC, phone, wallet and a polaroid camera. I broke down. Not because I lost the money and not because of how much all that was worth, but I was afraid that I couldn't make it back to Singapore. Suddenly, I turned into someone without any form of identification and didn't belong to any country. I cried really badly and was saying repeatedly, "My passport, my IC. Everything was inside." And believe me, it was equally big a shock to my boyfriend and his cousins. After a while, we walked back to the hotel and my boyfriend's family helped me make calls to Singapore Consulate, M1 and the various banks back in Singapore to cancel my stuff.
I'm just so damn glad that these people were there for me when my bag was snatched. They helped me in whatever way they can and I'm really thankful for that. And in order to show how thankful I am, what I did was to enjoy the rest of the days at Malacca. (The snatch-theft happened on the first day.)
So anyways, this post is to not for me to go on and on about how upset I am with my loss but to pass on the knowledge to you guys on what to do if you were to lose your passport and/or IC when you're overseas.
1. Make a police report.
Yes, head to the nearest police station right away regardless which country you're at. It may be difficult or even impossible to get your stuff back but it is important that you have a police report because you will need it for the Singapore Consulate and airport/Singapore checkpoint.
2. Head to a Singapore Consulate.
Be prepared cos you will need to pay a certain sum of money for a temporary passport. Also, you'll need to submit your police report and a passport photo.
3. Cancel all your bank cards/mobile line.
Use the hotel phone or someone else's phone to make a report to the bank(s) and telephone company. It is important that you do this to prevent any money being withdrawn from your account and to prevent any additional costs made to your mobile phone's line.
4. Be prepared to be bombarded.
Everyone is going to ask you what happened everywhere you go - the police station, the Singapore Consulate, Singapore Airport/Singapore Checkpoint. It is gonna be quite tough especially if yours was a robbery or snatch-theft, so brace yourself and not flare up at these people because they're just trying to do their jobs.
5. Go to the nearest police station.
Immediately. Show them the police report from the overseas police and also the temporary passport.
6. Head to ICA.
Head to ICA the next day once you're back in Singapore. It's open from 8am to 5pm from Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm on Saturday. Bring along your temporary passport and police reports. It is essential. Also, $100 for loss of IC.
To be honest, on the night my stuff was snatched, I couldn't sleep. When I closed my eyes, all I could see was that moment when my bag got snatched, over and over again. It was a harrowing experience but I was just glad that I didn't get pulled along with my bag. So guys, stay safe when you're overseas. If you're carrying a backpack, carry it in front and if you're carrying a sling bag, cross it over your body and your bag should be in front. But in any case still, have fun if you're going overseas!

Scars.
Starting from a baby, we learn to crawl, then to walk, run, cycle, play sports, etc. And through this process of growing up, we've suffered from a lot of scars - both physically and emotionally. We grow out of the physical scars naturally and maybe some are left permanent as if to remind us of our past. There are also the emotional scars, which some may forget over time while some just cannot be erased.
I have scars, no doubt. Cos I am human. And I think the worse kinda scars are the ones that nag at you for years. For some, decades. I have this scar in me that's been there since I was 18. It was the worst scar I've suffered so far because until now, I haven't really healed fully. It was a bad relationship, but no, it's not the feelings for him that are nagging me but the emotional distress that I suffered from after it. At that point of time after the breakup, my body's condition spiralled as I start to reach the lowest blood pressure of my life when my blood pressure was considered low. I had irritable bowel syndrome. I couldn't sleep well, I was being sad all the time and crying every other night. I tweeted about how upset I am and sometimes I post angry tweets about how he caused all these to happen to me. No one really understood. Some just say cheer up, some tell me I'm in control of my life and some just think that it'd be appropriate to just bitch about me indirectly on Twitter about how I should control my emotions and how immature I am. To be frank, I was upset at how these people couldn't understand the things I am going through but they think they do so they just comment about it. And it hurts. It makes me cry even. But maybe, to be able to cry was better.
Then, things got worse, to the point whereby I couldn't feel anything any more. When things are funny, or I assume they should be, I laugh. Not genuinely laughing but just laughing for the sake of it so that my friends and family wouldn't think that there's any problem with me. I started to head out lesser. I lost motivation for everything. At that point of time, I was in poly year 2. Slowly, I was neglecting my school work, skipping classes until one night, something struck me. I don't know what. But I sneaked to the kitchen to get panadol pills. I read the instructions and counted the lethal amount for my weight. It was 12 and above. So I took 12. Just enough to go on overdose. I waited and waited. Then my mum started yelling for my dad to come and take me to the hospital. My mum cried while holding my hand on the car and it was at that moment that I felt my heart ache. I felt my emotions coming back and that I was also crying. I felt stupid for doing what I did.
After the pills incident, things got better. My life started to get back on track. It was slow, but I finally became.. well, more normal, I guess. And I hope that those who are experiencing the same thing I went through would hang in there cos bad things won't last.

My funeral.
Nah, I'm dying yet. But, I'm actually thinking about how I would want my funeral to be. I know how traditional chinese families in Singapore are but I really hope that my funeral wouldn't be like the ones we see now, under the block with yellow canvas and loud, sad music playing. I want my funeral to be something light. Something.. different.
1. It shall be held at an air-conditioned place.
Please, please, please let it be at an air-conditioned place. If my house is big enough, it shall be my house. If not, it shall be at a hotel ballroom, or function room. I don't want my guests perspiring like mad.
2. The colour theme is pastel.
Yes. Pastel. I don't like how boring the dressing code at funerals are - black and white. I hope everyone would be in nice pastel clothings to send me off. Of course, I'd be in a lavender dress. If I die of a young age, a nice lavender buster dress with frills at the rims. And of course a headpiece - a hair band with lavenders on it. I'd like to be holding on to a bouquet of lavenders too. Well, if I die of an old age, I want a lavender dress with 3/4 sleeves and the dress ends at my shin. I'd like to have a lavender tucked in my hair and of course, a bouquet of lavenders. I'd also like to have a watch, round-faced and on the inside is mint coloured. The watch will have thin leather straps and my name engraved at the back of the watch face. As for my husband (if he's still alive), I'll have a set of clothes ready for him - a pastel yellow blazer along with matching pants of a very smooth and comfy material along with a pair of brown suede shoes. He can wear any shirt or tee shirt he likes as long as it's plain white. And as a goodbye gift to him, probably a decent watch, round-faced with leather straps; both the face and the straps are outlined with thin silver strips and of course, his name will be engraved at the back of the watch. My coffin shall be mint coloured with gold rims and the inside should be filled with white fluffy cushions with lots of different types of flowers that are pastel-coloured of course. All utensils shall be pastel-coloured as well, with gold rims but disposable ones.
3. The music should be light.
But no classical music or jazz please. I don't want any of my guests dozing off at my funeral and I don't really like jazz. I want something that doesn't make everyone feel sad and solemn. I want my family and friends to mingle around and get to know each other cos it's always nice to meet someone new and friendly.
4. Dogs are allowed.
I love dogs with all of my life and of course, dogs are allowed. But just try not to let the dogs near the Muslims.
I guess that's how I'd plan my funeral. Well, at least from a mindset of a 20-year-old. I know as we grow older, things change and so do our mindsets but for now, this is my plan for my funeral. So, till next time lovelies! X

20 ain't that sweet.
Once you hit 20 and you just finished your polytechnic, you'll find that 20 ain't that sweet. Well, at least mine isn't.
I have 2 part-time jobs, of which both are not stable at all and having part-time jobs means no CPF. Yes, I'm only 20 but I'm already thinking of my CPF. I'm worried that in the future, I'd not have enough to get a house. Everyone around me just says, "Let your future husband do the job." Hello? Are you guys outta your minds?! How can I let one guy to decide whether I have a roof over my head?! What if his CPF isn't enough? It means I would have to top it up in order to get a house and if I don't have any or so little that it actually doesn't help much, I'd probably be living with his family or mine. Not that I'm against that but marriage to me is starting afresh and having my very own family. So I'd very much wish to have a house on my own with my husband.
Currently, I'm working in the AVL line, one of which was my internship company and the other is a suggestion by the boyfriend, which I am only scheduled to work once per month. I'm a girl, and a really skinny one. So people just shove me aside like I'm nothing and show me no to little respect cos I can't carry heavy stuff and can't do much work. To be honest, people always magnify the bad things about me and minimise the good points I have. Not that I'm saying I'm good but if I am not given the chance to learn and shine, how will anyone know how good I am?
To be honest, living in Singapore is making me so depressed. Every single thing is so god damn expensive and even if it isn't, the price will just keep on rising till it gets ridiculous. An example would be a thick shake from New Zealand Natural. A few years ago, it was $5 and already expensive enough. Now it's freaking $7. Then, there's the pressure from my parents. Occasionally, my mum would text me up, asking me if I have gotten a full-time job. It gets me so depressed every time my mum texts me this cos I know by telling her that I haven't would disappoint her so much. I hate to disappoint the people I love, especially my parents who brought me up painstakingly only to find their daughter to be so useless and unemployed.
That's why I like going overseas. Or going to places locally that doesn't seem like Singapore because for that period of time, I'll just forget how sucky life can be and just be happy and relaxed without worrying about pieces of smelly papers that control our lives or being unemployed.
For now, when I'm not out for my job, I'd just spend the whole day on my laptop or going out with my friends. Life's currently really depressing for me right now and I don't know when will things get better but I hope the time will come soon cos I don't know how long I can take all these.
Sorry that this has been a really upsetting post but I gotta rant all of these out somewhere and if any of you are going through what I am now, don't worry, you're not alone.
Till next time folks. X
P.S. I'm really thankful for having readers, even though I've no idea if some of you even read my post but my makeup posts hit 250 and I love you guys. Thanks so much for your support, muah.

Late New Year Resolutions.
Once again, I left this blog to rot. Sorry, I didn't mean to! Work was crazy but I like the crazy working hours cos it keeps my mind off stuff.
Alright, I know this post has come a little late but here are some of my new year resolutions.
1. Do something about my future.
Yes, I'm graduating from Singapore Polytechnic this year and I have to think about my future. University or work? I'm leaning towards the latter. A lot of people around me are trying to psycho me into getting into University but I don't think studying is really a thing for me. Plus I think I'll most probably die from the stress if I were to study any more. For me, I like working. I like doing things hands-on. Being an intern at Showmakers has proven my point. Even though I complain about being tired and all, I actually enjoy working there much more than sitting through lectures and tutorials in school. Furthermore, I have taken an interest in the things I'm learning and experiencing through my internship and along with the help of a mentor, I am thinking of entering this industry after getting my diploma certificate.
2. Increase my weight!!!
Okay, really. My weight has been annoying me for so many years and yet still remain stagnant despite the amount of food and junk food I eat!!! I'm annoyingly skinny to the point whereby finding clothes seem to be hard and some clothes actually look ugly on me cos I'm just too skinny. Bottoms are really hard to find since my waist is 24 inches which makes me a size 2 and I've no idea why most shops I go to don't really have size 2 available for me. But no worries, I'm gonna continue eating more and hopefully hit 45kg by the end of this year.
3. Fly to somewhere.
Bangkok, Taiwan, Hongkong, just anywhere that I can fly to. It's not that Singapore isn't great, it's just that everything is getting pricey here and I need to increase my wardrobe content so I have to fly to somewhere where clothes are much more affordable as compared to Singapore! Plus they have really good food there and leaving Singapore for a while somehow allows me to leave my problems here for a while too.
4. Update my blog more.
Okay, guilty. It's not that I don't want to but it's more of like I'm too tired to. I'm spending whatever time I have, apart from work, to eat and sleep. Yeap, most of the time that's what I do cos I'm too tired to do anything else. But a promise made so I'll try my best to blog whenever I can!
In any case, somehow I'll forget all these by next week since my memory space is like the size of a pea. Or according to one of my best classmates, 'smaller than that'. Anyways, I hope you guys would have a great year ahead and a late Happy New Year to all of you lovelies reading my blog! Thank you for reading my posts even though they're like irregularly posted and of broken English. Take care and stay happy, lovelies! X

Instaaaaaaaagram.
I've finally updated my blog banner, woohoo! Yes, after months of using the previous banner, I decided to have a change and here it is! A montage of photos of me and some of my friends. I just thought I look pretty good in that shades which is why I used that photo. Hahaha! It wasn't my shades anyways.
So, I'm here to post a few photos that I took over the past few months since I've no idea what I should talk about. Been pretty long since I've posted loads of photos so here they are!
The Shoppes at Marina Bay.
Alright, little words with loads of photos. Hope you lovelies enjoyed my photos and if you do, you can add me up at Zhiyin_g on Instagram! Till next time! X

Above are mornings at Queenstown, Singapore. I love taking shots of the sky, heh.
I like this a lot. I took it in the evening from my room window. The different shades of blue was like art to me so I took a photo of this.
I'm watching you..
These are the best xiao long baos from Crystal Jade. Had this at Holland Village. Nomnomnom.
The Shoppes at Marina Bay.
My cute shoes that are now super dirty from my job at Sentosa last weekend. :(
This is at Sentosa! My first attempt at the Panoramic Shot. It's pretty fail, if you see carefully but I love it. I was standing on the Red Bull Flugtag runway to take this shot.
Idk why but I think it's pretty artistic. Okay, some may think this is shit. But I like it.
Mini floating out at sea cos being on the road is too mainstream.
Last picture of Sentosa's sunset before I left the place yesterday.
This was taken on yesterday afternoon and my second attempt at Panoramic shots. I love this shot the most among all my Sentosa photos.
Alright, little words with loads of photos. Hope you lovelies enjoyed my photos and if you do, you can add me up at Zhiyin_g on Instagram! Till next time! X

Billionaire
"I wanna be a billionaire, so fucking bad.
Buy all of the things I never had."
- Billionaire by Travie McCoy
Yes, I'm feeling super poor right now. I need new clothes but I'm lacking of money. :( What's worse is I tried applying for quite a number of jobs but failed. Shoot me please. I applied for several jobs like as a waitress at a bar (day-time), ohsofickle, and a few more. It's pretty depressing, knowing that I've been rejected a lot of times. But mainly is because I don't have much experience (except for doing a few events) and in this period of time, a lot of people are looking for jobs too.
Anyways, just got back my results and it sucks, no doubt. My GPA just hit a new low. Sad? Yeah, I am. I just think the education system in Singapore is just so crazy. It's as if the society in Singapore is FORCING everyone to get a degree so that we can survive in this crazy world with good pay and to buy good stuff. Of course, having a good pay and buying good stuff doesn't mean you're leading a good life. You have to work your ass off for that pay and when you buy good stuff you have to cut down on spending on other stuff. In all, we're just slaves for money. Humans are just slaves of non-living things.
Many times, I've cried due to the stress I was having while working on my course or due to extremely disappointing results. I'm sure many of you did too. It's a trend among students of Singapore. Sure, we're doing quite well in terms of education level as compared to other countries but let's not forget how many students are undergoing depression due to the tremendous stress they receive from studying in Singapore. A few months back, I asked a friend who's from Malaysia whether she prefers studying in Singapore or Malaysia. She said, "Of course Malaysia lah!" There was no room for hesitation and doubt before she gave me that answer. It didn't come as a surprise, honestly.
Yesterday, I read an article on Flipboard (an app for smartphones) and it said US is pretty low in its percentage for people with at least a diploma certificate as compared to other countries. But as you all know, US is really advanced as compared to other countries and is still advancing. Having high education level doesn't mean you'll definitely do well in the future. It just means you MIGHT do well than others in the future. I know a few people who have degrees but have to work from the bottom. What's the point of having a degree if it's like that? Having a degree should at least secure you a high-paying job that's not right at the bottom. Isn't that why people mug so damn hard for degrees? There're even some cases I know that diploma holders actually get better pay than degree holders because diploma holders already have experience when they're going through the polytechnic life. Here's a real life and famous example for you guys:
And that's Bill Gates with his quote, "I failed my exam in some subjects but my friend passed. Now he's an engineer in Microsoft and I am the owner."
Anyways, my point for this post is to tell those people out there that yes, you may be having some really crazy disappointing results now but you'll do just well enough if you work hard when you're out working. It's not all about results and a degree certificate. It's about your working attitude. As long as you're trying, you'll not be dying. Till next time, lovelies. X

Buy all of the things I never had."

The Poly Experience.
Just read a post about how tough JC life was for a girl who studied in HCJC. (Here you go.) Sure, JC life is tough, but being a polytechnic student isn't easy either. Many people stereotype poly students as a "slacker" or someone who doesn't like to study. Quit the stereotypes cos poly life ain't that simple.
As poly students, we have to cope with the huge load of work that's segmented to the following - homework, projects, presentations, exam papers. Let's not forget the percentages of all of these segments. Except for homework, all these segments consists of 20% to 40% of our modules. Homework and attendance consists of 5% to 15% of our modules. What's worse is that the deadlines for projects and presentations normally are really close to the exam papers and everything just cluster together which make everyone panic like hell and people would just start spamming on Facebook and Twitter about how stressful they are. Not blaming them, cos that's what I do too when I'm really stressed out. I just spam. Well, it's just probably what most teenagers would do these days.
For me, since year 1, I've been stressful. I hate studying and hate going to school. (I still do now.) I'd rather work now and slowly work my way up the ranks. But I can't. Because no one can survive with just an O-level certificate. This is Singapore. This is reality. And it sucks so badly cos studying is the last thing I would want to do right now.
In school, everyone wears really nice clothes and everyone just judge you based on what you wear. So I started going shopping every holiday just to get pretty clothes and not get judged. You may say that I'm living on the comments of others. I don't mind, cos that's the truth. I started wearing heels to school. I wore dresses more often than ever. I spend more money on clothes now than before. I know it is a burden on my father but I can't help it. This whole 'judgemental' thing has taken a toll on me, no doubt.
When I miss lessons, I'd ask my classmates what they did and whether there's any homework and stuff. And well, all I can say is just be careful about who you're asking. Some would tell you they did nothing in class while some would say there ain't any homework. Of course, there're the good ones who'd tell you everything they did in class. Lecturers would start asking why have I been missing lessons and the school would send letters regarding the attendance issue. My reasons for not going to school? I can't wake up on time, I'm lazy to go to school and I don't even like going to school.
I was denied of modules regarding filming. Twice. The first time was because I missed the minimum GPA of 3.0 by 0.02. Yes, just 0.02 and I was out of the list. The second time was because I didn't choose concentration on Radio and TV Production but I stated TV Production as my first choice. Under Radio and TV Production, there were 3 modules. TV Production, Radio Production and Broadcast Journalism. To concentrate on it means I have to study all 3 modules. I didn't want to study about Broadcast Journalism that was why I did not choose to concentrate on Radio and TV Production. However, due to popular demand, I didn't manage to get into the filming class but was shifted to a design class instead. I chose SP because I wanted to learn about filming but now, I am denied of the chance to learn about filming. And my dream job just drifts further away from me.
And then, there's the stress from personal life. No one's life would be smooth. It just depends on how you handled it. Well, I handle mine badly, to be honest. I remember myself crying in class one fine day out of a sudden. And everyone thought Abraham (classmate who was sitting beside me at that time) made me cry or something. Till now, I still can't handle stress well. I'll probably come to learn how to do it, or not even at all. No one would know. But let's just hope that I will.
No student would lead a good life in Singapore, trust me. Because the education system has turned Singaporeans and PRs into servants of the system. They have to work hard for the system or they'd suffer in the future. It's not the message that the Singapore government is giving, but it is something we all know. We are controlled by the education system. If we do not complete the education system, we would get either low-wage jobs like cleaners and if we do, we would probably earn big bucks. So what students can do now is to just study their ass off and get at least a Diploma in order to get out of schools and work. Some may even study after a few years of working cos they find that a mere Diploma doesn't help.
I still haven't figured out what I wanna work as in the future because filming seems impossible now. Also, I do like designing but my designs have been criticised since.. forever, which makes my confidence in my designs to decrease. Event management seems interesting but my group recently got the lowest grade for FYP. It seems like whatever I study, I can't excel in it. And I keep wondering if this course was the right one for me. I'm starting to regret choosing this course. But I can't do anything about it anymore but to just hang on and go through the last year. After this, I'll not be a slave to the education system anymore, hopefully.
Alright, sorry for the super lengthy post. Took me two days to actually finish up this post because there were just too many thoughts and I prefer to blog at night, so yeah. Thanks for reading, lovelies! :)
