Anyways, about my makeup. All are cheap (okay, cheaper as compared to retail price) and are actually pretty good. At least, for me they are. Alright, my makeup concept is simple mainly because I'm lazy to do pretty makeup for school everyday. I just apply BB cream, concealer and foundation. If I'm going to town for events or nightspots, I'd probably put on eyeliner, mascara and coloured contact lenses as well. And maybe some coloured lip gloss. I'm not gonna take photos of my makeup products and my makeup process cos my camera's battery just died and I left my batter charger at home while I'm staying over at my boyfriend's house now. I wanna post this today also because I intend to post every week, so here it goes, my list of makeup!
Tadums! SKIN79's Hot Pink Super Beblesh Balm!
It is a korean brand but is so popular that it has spread to Taiwan and even Singapore!
As you can see on the tube itself, it says tripe functions, which are whitening, UV protecting and also wrinkle free. I'm sure a number of you have heard of this brand or know about this BB cream. There's also another type of BB cream which is the SKIN79's Gold Super Beblesh Balm.
As according to comments on forums (I forgot where, oops!) The Hot Pink BB cream is for people with oily skin (most likely teenagers) and this is for people with dry to normal skin. I'm not sure if this is true but I've seen this sort of comments numerous times, which is why I bought the pink one. Oh, btw, the hot pink BB cream's retail price is $30+ at Watsons, if I'm not wrong. But I got it for $10+ at Qoo10 (which was previously known as Gmarket. I prefer Gmarket though. Qoo10 is like stealing Qoo's name.)
However, do take note of fake products. For every popular product, there will be fake ones, LV bags. Nonetheless, SKIN79's BB creams have counterfeit ones too. I've googled a few websites for your convenience and here they are: Website 1 & Website 2.
These websites give you details and picture comparisons to show you the differences between the real and fake products so that you wouldn't be conned by sellers.
Well, of course, another pulling factor for me to buy the SKIN79 Hot Pink BB cream is the ambassador for SKIN79 BB creams, who is none other than..
Jolin Tsai! Look at her skin in this advertisement!! Isn't it flawless?! Anyways, the tagline says, "我的裸妆比谁都自然" which means my nude makeup is more natural-looking than anyone else's. I AGREE. Some people don't even notice I have makeup on when I'm out! (no joke.)
And if Jolin Tsai is of no appeal to you, (I don't see why there's no appeal) here's another photo of the ambassadors of SKIN79 BB Cream!
The Brown Eyed Girls! They're each holding a product of SKIN79! This is the cover photo of SKIN79 Singapore's Facebook page, so do like it if you like SKIN79 or BEG! Ambassadors from Korea to Taiwan, no wonder SKIN79 is recognised as the best seller of BB cream internationally!
If you need more information, you can visit their official website here.
And next is my concealer!
It is Pasha 'Hide the Blemish Concealer'! It's a French brand that is also pretty popular and is recommended by a famous Taiwanese beauty program, 女人我最大.
So they come in three colours, #1 Natural Fair; #2 Natural Ivory and #3 Natural Skin colour. As my skin is a bit yellowish, I chose #2 Natural Ivory and it suits my skin perfectly. It's the first time I see my dark eye circles concealed perfectly! It stays well for a few hours and at the end of the day, I can see my dark eye circles slightly. If I'm left with 5 minutes of time to put on my makeup, I'd just apply BB cream super quickly along with my concealer and head out.
I couldn't find any ambassadors for this but I found out that famous Nuffnang blogger and host of Budget Barbie on clicknetworktv, Bong Qiu Qiu actually blogged about this! She's really impressed with this product, believe me or not. If you don't, the post is just right here! Her friend bought it for her from China while I bought it from Qoo10 (Gmarket). You can get it at around $6-$7, it's really cheap! Apparently, I tried looking for its official website but it seems like it doesn't have any, so let's move on to basic makeup no. 3 - compact powder!
It's the 3W Clinic Powder Crystal Creator Bright! There're three types, Light Beige, Natural Beige and Translucent (Transparent) Pearl. I'm currently using Light Beige and it gives good coverage. Apply this after you apply BB cream on your face and you'll obtain a shine-free result. That's what I do so that my face wouldn't seem so shiny and oily. It's actually a Korean brand and is quite popular internationally. I think you can get it at $10+ on Qoo10! Yes, I'm apparently an avid fan of Qoo10 cos I buy most of my makeup products from there. I couldn't find any ambassadors for this as well as famous bloggers who've blogged about it. (If they do, I'm sorry I couldn't find it!)
I also apply Maybelline Baby Lips Anti-Oxidant Berry Lip Balm.
It smells really, really nice and sweet that I feel like eating it! It's not a form of makeup but it's actually good for the lips as it nourishes well. According to Maybelline, after using Maybelline Baby Lips, you'll have visibly renewed lips and 8-hour hydration, with SPF 20, protects and moisturises lips for a full 8 hours and after 4 weeks of using it everyday, your lips are visibly renewed and reborn! So I actually got this as a free gift when I bought Maybelline's Volum Express The Colossal Mascara (which I'll talk about later) on Qoo10. A lot of my friends were using it and I didn't want to use it because it'd seem I'm following everyone else. But after I lost my old lip balm, I decided to use this and I find it really good. It's not that sticky on the lips and I really like the texture of it cos some lip balms actually make your lips really sticky and I hate those types a lot.
So for Maybelline Baby Lips, they have 4 flavours, Energising Orange, Smooth Cherry, Menthol and Anti-Oxidating Berry. I've not tried the other flavours but I really like what I have now! Anyways, there's a different packaging for Maybelline Baby Lips and also different flavours! Here they are..!
As you can see, this packaging has a transparent cover and a more vibrant packaging as compared to the previous packaging where mostly pastel colours were used. The flavours are Quenched, Peppermint, Cherry Me, Grape Vine, Pink Punch, Peach Kiss! This packaging is only available in certain countries like the US, although I don't think these are sold in Singapore. The lip balms (pastel-coloured ones) are sold at Watsons, Guardian and departmental stores. Do give it a try if your lips are like mine, that's always cracking!
So this is the end of list of the basic makeup I wear daily, no matter I'm going to school or heading out. When I'm attending events or going to nightspots, I'd put on eyeliner and/or mascara and these are the products that I use!
It's the Silkygirl Long-Wearing Eyeliner! Mine's in 01 Black Black. I got it at Genting First World Hotel's Watsons. They were having a sales for members which I applied while I was there since I figured I'd be going Malaysia quite often. I've tried it on myself once and on another girl once and I have to say, this is good. I recently started using eyeliners so I'm not really good at it which is why this is actually good for beginners.
See the tip? It's pretty think, I agree, but with this kind of thickness, you don't have to draw over your eyelids over and over again to gain that thickness that you need. I'm not all over 'panda-eye' makeup but I just buy it to try out Silkygirl's pen eyeliners. And also it was on discount! Okay, I sound very cheapo but it's hard to survive in Singapore's economy while spending a lot on makeup so I have to try to save up as much as I can. (Silkygirl Eyeliner pictures credits to jadeisabelle)
Before I bought the Silkygirl Long-Wearing Eyeliner, I actually already have the Tony Moly Gisele Backstage Eyeliner but I wasn't very experienced in drawing eyeliners from the start so using a gel eyeliner wouldn't help. But I have to say, I've tried the texture for this and damn, it's really good!
And the ambassador of Tony Moly Gel Eyeliner is none other than BEG's Ga-In! Seems like BEG is taking up a lot of commercials for makeup. Not only SKIN79's BB creams but Tony Moly Gel Eyeliner as well. Anyways, see the applicant for the eyeliner there? Yeap, it's a brush, which is also the cap of the eyeliner. You just have to twist the black part to open the eyeliner and pull the top for the brush!
So there're actually 6 different colours to choose from, #01 Black, #02 Brown, #03 Pearl Brown; #04 Pearl Navy; #05 Pearl Violet; #06 Khaki Black. For me I chose #01 Black because it is the safest colour for an eyeliner and I don't want an over-dramatic one. Plus I prefer just simple colours on my face. You can actually get this at maybe.. $8 to $10 at Qoo10! I'm not sure if it's on the shelves at stores but you can try.
So now, it's my mascara!
I think applying mascara is easier than applying eyeliner. Okay, it may be different for you, I don't know. Or maybe I'm just weird. Or it's you. Hahaha! Anyways, the mascara I'm using is..
Maybelline's 'The Magnum Volum' Express' mascara! It's waterproof, of course. And currently, Maybelline has many other series of mascaras like falsies or the colossal. Anyways, I bought this because it came with the Maybelline Baby Lips as a free gift. Cheapo me, heh. Anyways, see the brush? Yeah, I like how the shape of the brush is. It is made like this intentionally so that you can fit it nicely to your eyelids. It's easy to apply but I hate that the bottom of the mascara bottle is so small because I tend to topple it easily. Well, we don't want good stuff to go to waste, don't we? Anyways, I found the advertisements of this mascara and here are they.
So this actually appeared in the magazine called 'Seventeen' which I buy every month to keep up with the trends and all. Anyways, it gives you tips on how you can be bold and a drama queen while the bottom part (in purple) is the information about the mascara.
And this, it gives you colossal lashes in an instant (which maybe why they have the colossal mascara version after this) and it gives you 9 times more in volume! Okay, volume wise, maybe not really 9 times but it definitely gives you volume and length as well which is why having mascara is essential if you're going for events! Remember try not to blink for the first few seconds after you apply the mascara or else your top and bottom lashes might just get stuck!
When I need some glitter and pump to my lips, I'll use the 3W Clinic Aqua Shine Lip Gloss!
The packaging looks classy isn't it? Anyways, the colour's really light on the lips cos it's a lip gloss so what I suggest you (if you want some colour on your lips) is to apply your lipstick first (preferably red lipstick with red lip gloss and pink lipstick and pink lip gloss for a nicer colour to your lipstick) then apply the lip gloss. Oh, remember to press your lips on a piece of tissue after you apply lipstick, then reapply the lipstick for a longer-lasting effect! So I actually have two colours for this lip gloss, one is more of a coral colour and the other is the one you see at the back. It does give you the shine that you need and probably a bit of volume in the lips due to all the shine. Anyways, I think it's a pretty good lip gloss! I got it from Qoo10 previously but somehow the seller stopped selling it alr, so I'm not really sure where you can get this from. Probably online sellers so you'll have to google them!
Anyways, there's just one other product that I frequently use! It may not be a form of makeup but it does helps for people with dry skin that peels all the time!
It's the Face Shop's Mini Pet Hand Cream! The Face Shop is a korean brand which launches products for face, skin, hands, hair and even your nails! So this product actually comes in 4 flavours.
01 Mini Pet Baby (which smells like baby lotion or baby powder), 02 Mini Pet Fruits (has the smell of fruits which is pretty nice), 03 Mini Pet Floral (which smells like flowers, of course and has a sweet smell) and 04 Mini Pet Sweet (which of course smells like sweets). I have 3, (the first 3 because Mini Pet Sweet is a new flavour and I bought these months ago) and I have to say all 3 smell equally nice. I'm currently using Mini Pet Baby, which definitely smells like baby lotion. I've used it for months because I don't use it everyday but it's quite good. It doesn't leave a sticky feel (unless you apply too much, of course) and the best thing is it smells nice! I smell like a baby after using the hand cream, heh. I actually use it on my knees as well cos the skin on my knee keeps peeling off. Anyways, I usually apply them at night, before I go to sleep or at the start of the day.
Okay, so this is the end of the makeup I would put on normally. I do have other makeups like eye shadows and blush but I don't usually use them which is why they're not mentioned. As there're pimples all the time on my cheeks (somehow they never go away which annoys me a lot), they're already usually red, so I don't really have to apply blusher. I think that's the only good thing about pimples. Haha! Anyways, I hope my post has been useful to you lovelies out there who're looking for cheap but good and long-lasting makeup! So, see you lovelies!
P.S.: All pictures are linked to its sources so credits for the pictures go to them!
