My funeral.

Nah, I'm dying yet. But, I'm actually thinking about how I would want my funeral to be. I know how traditional chinese families in Singapore are but I really hope that my funeral wouldn't be like the ones we see now, under the block with yellow canvas and loud, sad music playing. I want my funeral to be something light. Something.. different.

1. It shall be held at an air-conditioned place.
Please, please, please let it be at an air-conditioned place. If my house is big enough, it shall be my house. If not, it shall be at a hotel ballroom, or function room. I don't want my guests perspiring like mad.

2. The colour theme is pastel.
Yes. Pastel. I don't like how boring the dressing code at funerals are - black and white. I hope everyone would be in nice pastel clothings to send me off. Of course, I'd be in a lavender dress. If I die of a young age, a nice lavender buster dress with frills at the rims. And of course a headpiece - a hair band with lavenders on it. I'd like to be holding on to a bouquet of lavenders too. Well, if I die of an old age, I want a lavender dress with 3/4 sleeves and the dress ends at my shin. I'd like to have a lavender tucked in my hair and of course, a bouquet of lavenders. I'd also like to have a watch, round-faced and on the inside is mint coloured. The watch will have thin leather straps and my name engraved at the back of the watch face. As for my husband (if he's still alive), I'll have a set of clothes ready for him - a pastel yellow blazer along with matching pants of a very smooth and comfy material along with a pair of brown suede shoes. He can wear any shirt or tee shirt he likes as long as it's plain white. And as a goodbye gift to him, probably a decent watch, round-faced with leather straps; both the face and the straps are outlined with thin silver strips and of course, his name will be engraved at the back of the watch. My coffin shall be mint coloured with gold rims and the inside should be filled with white fluffy cushions with lots of different types of flowers that are pastel-coloured of course. All utensils shall be pastel-coloured as well, with gold rims but disposable ones.

3. The music should be light.
But no classical music or jazz please. I don't want any of my guests dozing off at my funeral and I don't really like jazz. I want something that doesn't make everyone feel sad and solemn. I want my family and friends to mingle around and get to know each other cos it's always nice to meet someone new and friendly.

4. Dogs are allowed.
I love dogs with all of my life and of course, dogs are allowed. But just try not to let the dogs near the Muslims.

I guess that's how I'd plan my funeral. Well, at least from a mindset of a 20-year-old. I know as we grow older, things change and so do our mindsets but for now, this is my plan for my funeral. So, till next time lovelies! X
