Billionaire

"I wanna be a billionaire, so fucking bad.
Buy all of the things I never had."
- Billionaire by Travie McCoy

Yes, I'm feeling super poor right now. I need new clothes but I'm lacking of money. :( What's worse is I tried applying for quite a number of jobs but failed. Shoot me please. I applied for several jobs like as a waitress at a bar (day-time), ohsofickle, and a few more. It's pretty depressing, knowing that I've been rejected a lot of times. But mainly is because I don't have much experience (except for doing a few events) and in this period of time, a lot of people are looking for jobs too.

Anyways, just got back my results and it sucks, no doubt. My GPA just hit a new low. Sad? Yeah, I am. I just think the education system in Singapore is just so crazy. It's as if the society in Singapore is FORCING everyone to get a degree so that we can survive in this crazy world with good pay and to buy good stuff. Of course, having a good pay and buying good stuff doesn't mean you're leading a good life. You have to work your ass off for that pay and when you buy good stuff you have to cut down on spending on other stuff. In all, we're just slaves for money. Humans are just slaves of non-living things.

Many times, I've cried due to the stress I was having while working on my course or due to extremely disappointing results. I'm sure many of you did too. It's a trend among students of Singapore. Sure, we're doing quite well in terms of education level as compared to other countries but let's not forget how many students are undergoing depression due to the tremendous stress they receive from studying in Singapore. A few months back, I asked a friend who's from Malaysia whether she prefers studying in Singapore or Malaysia. She said, "Of course Malaysia lah!" There was no room for hesitation and doubt before she gave me that answer. It didn't come as a surprise, honestly.

Yesterday, I read an article on Flipboard (an app for smartphones) and it said US is pretty low in its percentage for people with at least a diploma certificate as compared to other countries. But as you all know, US is really advanced as compared to other countries and is still advancing. Having high education level doesn't mean you'll definitely do well in the future. It just means you MIGHT do well than others in the future. I know a few people who have degrees but have to work from the bottom. What's the point of having a degree if it's like that? Having a degree should at least secure you a high-paying job that's not right at the bottom. Isn't that why people mug so damn hard for degrees? There're even some cases I know that diploma holders actually get better pay than degree holders because diploma holders already have experience when they're going through the polytechnic life. Here's a real life and famous example for you guys:

And that's Bill Gates with his quote, "I failed my exam in some subjects but my friend passed. Now he's an engineer in Microsoft and I am the owner."

Anyways, my point for this post is to tell those people out there that yes, you may be having some really crazy disappointing results now but you'll do just well enough if you work hard when you're out working. It's not all about results and a degree certificate. It's about your working attitude. As long as you're trying, you'll not be dying. Till next time, lovelies. X

P.S. I googled the image so credits to whoever did that.
